Veterans to get free MRT-3, LRT-2 rides from Apr. 5 to 11
Good news for Filipino veterans!
The DOTr MRT-3 is offering free train rides in celebration of the 84th Anniversary of Araw ng Kagitingan and the 2026 Philippine Veterans Week.
According to the regulator, the Libreng Sakay will start on Monday, Apr. 6, and continue until Saturday, Apr. 11, 2026.
The free rides can be availed of during the operating hours of MRT-3 by presenting a Veteran’s ID or any valid ID to station personnel in exchange for a single journey ticket. A veteran can only be accompanied by one aide or companion.
DOTr MRT-3 said the campaign is in recognition of the sacrifice and heroism of Filipino veterans for the freedom of the country in line with this year's theme “Giting ng Bayani, Pamana sa Salinlahi."
In a Facebook post, the Philippne Veteran's Office has also announced free rides for veterans on the LRT-2 from Apr. 5 to 11.

The rides are available during the train line's peak hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
