You can now leave a legacy in UP Diliman Main Library by dedicating chairs, tables to your loved ones

University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman is upgrading Gonzalez Hall, a.k.a. the Main Library, and Iskos and Iskas can take part in leaving a lasting legacy to the building.

Through the university's UPgrade program, donors can dedicate a chair or table to a loved one or their family, as well as honor the memory of their favorite professor, celebrate a milestone birthday or anniversary, give recognition to their batch, barkada, fraternity, sorority, or student organization.

For a minimum donation of P10,000, alumni and friends of UP who'll be sharing kindness will get their names engraved on a brass plaque and placed on the restored narra hardwood furniture. See the number of furniture to be upgraded per donation below:

  • Narra chairs / P10,000 / 150 units
  • Single carrel desks / P10,000 / 30 units
  • Long narra table (8-seater) / P100,000 / 15 units

The new chairs and tables will be placed in the Main Lib's public reading room on the ground floor of its North Wing, which will also feature cathedral windows.

Donors will also enjoy library privileges including access to books and references through a special library card and discounted rates for special events and reservations.

The dedication plaques are good for 10 years, and the donor will be given the choice to renew their donation or extend their sponsorship for another decade.
