Published Jul 23, 2021 9:16 pm

The coronation night of the Miss World Philippines 2021 pageant has been postponed from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, August 8 due to new guidelines from the country’s COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

Metro Manila and four other provinces will be under General Community Quarantine with “heightened restrictions” from July 23 to July 31. The pageant was set to be showcased this July 25 at the Grand Ballroom in Paranaque’s Okada Manila.

The Miss World Philippines Organization confirmed the schedule change on social media: “Miss World Philippines 2021 is postponed in compliance with the new IATF guidelines given today.”

“Stay safe and we’ll see you all on the 8th of August.”

A total of 45 queens from around the country will be vying for the Miss World, Miss Supranational, Miss Eco International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Tourism, Miss Eco Teen International, and Miss Environment International crowns. The 2020 run of the pageant was also postponed last year amid the pandemic.

The rescheduled coronation night will still be held in Okada Manila.
