Man falls in love, marries mother-in-law after wife's death
A man ended up developing romantic feelings for his mother-in-law and marrying her after his wife's passing.
Local media outlet The Times of India reported early this month that the Indian man named Sikandar Yadav decided to live with his in-laws Dileshwar Darve and Geeta Devi after the death of his wife, with whom he welcomed two children.
The unexpected happened when they lived under one roof: Yadav and Devi fell in love with each other.
For a while, the two were able to keep their affair under wraps. Darve, however, later found out that his wife was cheating on him, so he reported it to the panchayat (village council). Instead of denying his true feelings for Devi, Yadav told the truth and proclaimed his love for her in front of the council and the villagers.
According to the report, Darve and the panchayat eventually reached an agreement to allow Yadav and Devi to have a court marriage to make their relationship legal. The father-in-law also helped with the arrangements, per The Times of India.
