Netflix is launching its own popcorn line to complement its streaming offerings.

On its website, Netflix announced that it has teamed up with the American company Popcorn Indiana to create "Now Popping."

Flavors include “Cult Classic Cheddar Kettle Corn” and “Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle Corn.”

"[T]his new line of Netflix popcorn promises a snack experience tailored to every viewer's taste," the streaming giant said.

It's available at Walmart stores in the US. There's no news yet on whether the popcorn will be available in the Philippines.

According to grocery chain Shoprite, an 8-ounce bag of Now Popping costs $4.49 (P260).

The popcorn line was launched as part of Netflix's summer campaign, in which it announced new seasons of reality shows Too Hot to Handle and Barbecue Showdown; rom-com movie A Family Affair starring Nicole Kidman, Joey King and Zac Efron; and comedy action movie Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F starring Eddie Murphy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

This isn't the first time that Netflix ventured into the food business.

Variety reported that in 2020, it partnered with ice cream brand Ben & Jerry's for the Netflix & Chilli'd flavor, a peanut butter ice cream with sweet-and-salty pretzel swirls and fudge brownies.
