Mike Enriquez's wake to open for public viewing on Sept. 2

Veteran newscaster Mike Enriquez’s wake will be open for public viewing this Saturday, GMA News announced on social media today, Aug. 31.

Fans of the veteran newscaster will have the chance to bid their farewell on Sept. 2 at the Christ The King Parish, Greenmeadows in Quezon City. The public viewing will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, a small memorial space for Enriquez is also arranged on his star in the German Moreno Walk of Fame in Eastwood City, Quezon City. 

Enriquez passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the age of 71. He went on medical leave in 2018 to get treatment for a kidney disease and had a heart bypass surgery in September of the same year.

Enriquez underwent a kidney transplant in December 2021 and returned to work in March 2022.

Regarded as the “pillar of the broadcasting industry,” the veteran journalist is best known for hosting Imbestigador, an investigative docudrama that featured crime stories and anomalies. 

He also headlined news programs Saksi and 24 Oras, in addition to the radio show Super Radyo dzBB.
