Heads up, motorists: Here are the alternative routes for Maginhawa Arts and Food Festival 2023
The local government of Quezon City has released a rerouting scheme for this year’s Maginhawa Arts and Food Festival, which will be held from Saturday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 3.
From Friday, Dec. 1 at 10 p.m. to Sunday, Dec. 3, at 12 midnight, the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) will be implementing a road closure on Maginhawa St. corner Malingap St. to Magiting St., as well as the B Baluyot St. corner Masinsinan St.
To avoid any traffic inconveniences on the specified dates, motorists in the area are encouraged to take alternate routes.
For those who will be coming from CP Garcia Ave., take Magiting Street to head over to Maginhawa St.
Motorists from Maginhawa Street can pass by the streets of Magiting, Matimtiman, and Mahiyain to Kalayaan Avenue to get to Malingap St.
Meanwhile, those coming from Maginhawa St. can reach CP Garcia Ave by making a right turn onto B Baluyot St. and then heading left onto Masinsinan St.
Two-way traffic will be implemented on CP Garcia to Maginhawa St. (via Magiting St.), Malingap St, to Mapagkawanggawa St, (via Matimtiman, Mahiyain St.), and Mapagkawanggawa St. to Matimtiman St. (via Magiting, Mabait, Mahabagin, Maalalahanin St.).
Take note that there will be only one-way traffic from B Baluyot St. to CP Garcia (via Masinsinan St.), and Maginhawa St. to Matimtiman St. (via Magiting St.).
The QC-LGU also said that they will deploy personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) and Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) to ensure a smooth and peaceful traffic flow in the area.
The MAFF 2023 is organized by the Maginhawa Food Community Inc., Quezon City Government, and JCI Quezon City Capitol.
Visitors can expect fun games and competitions, delectable meals from over 100 merchants, Christmas shopping, and more. It will also feature performances from favorite Pinoy bands including Dilaw, Over October, The Ridleys, and Ang Bandang Shirley.
It held its first edition in 2014 in celebration of Quezon City’s 75th anniversary, followed by another one titled Maginhawang Pasko in 2015.
