There's a camp with stargazing activities, astrophotography sessions, and more—all for just P1,400
You know how sometimes you just want to escape the usual routine? Well, trade your ordinary weekend for an experience that's out of this world. The Philippine Astronomical Society is set to hold a "Milky Way Camp" that's perfect for anyone passionate about astronomy.
"Embark on a celestial journey like no other at the Milky Way Camp 2025, where each moment is a thrilling leap into the unknown! Just as the Milky Way fills the sky with wonder, our camp offers an extra dimension to your experience, delving deep into the mysteries of the universe," PAS said.
"Whether you're a seasoned astronomer or a curious newcomer, our camp guarantees an enriching adventure filled with captivating talks, mesmerizing views, and the warmth of fellow stargazers," they added.
The event will take place at Big Handy’s Grounds, a private farm located in Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal on the following dates: March 29 to 30, April 26 to 27, and May 3 to 4.
Anyone is free to sign up for the event, but minors need to be accompanied by a parent or any legal guardian.
Here, participants get to look through telescopes, do stargazing, take awesome photos at the Milky Way photobooth, learn about astronomy, and even take part in an astrophotography workshop.

The gates will open at the campsite at 3:30 p.m. on March 29, with the event ending at 8 a.m. the next day.
For those who are bringing their own vehicles, there will be limited parking slots available inside the farm for vehicles that are capable of traversing mountainous terrain. Parking inside the premises is on a first-come, first-served basis, and those who will not be catered will be parked on the roadside below the camping grounds.
Some of the essentials you should bring include a tent, sleeping bags, valid IDs, mats for stargazing, rain gear, packed dinner, breakfast, snacks, trash bags, toiletries, and necessary medicines, among others.
PAS said that the Milky Way Camp will push through regardless of rainy weather, but the event can still be canceled if the organizers deem the weather conditions to be too dangerous.
The event has a fee of P1,400 per person. PAS detailed that the proceeds will be used to support their mission to promote astronomy education in the Philippines by funding their future astronomy outreach events.
