Masungi Georeserve adds new dates for birdwatching activity this August

Looking to spend a slow morning on the weekend? Masungi Georeserve has added new dates for its birdwatching activity this August.

Sometimes, one of the easiest ways to unwind after a busy week is to spend some quiet time in nature. If this sounds like your kind of weekend escape, join the organization's “Birds and Breakfast” activity on Aug. 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, and 31. 

The experience starts at 4:30 a.m., where participants have the chance to explore and marvel at different bird species in the conservation area. Along the way, they will also learn more about the important role birds play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.

After the morning stroll, participants will be treated to a bowl of ube champorado or arroz caldo, served with a fresh fruit platter in a scenic garden setting. They can also enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee or rich hot chocolate, paired with homemade Kayumanis tea.

The activity will wrap up with a lecture on Philippine birdwatching, which will allow participants to share their observations and insights from the experience.

The activity is open to everyone, whether you are an experienced birder, a casual outdoor enthusiast, or simply needing some nature fix.

Note that all wildlife observed during the visit is wild and free-roaming, so sightings cannot be guaranteed and depend on weather, season, time of day, and natural behavior. The activity will push through rain or shine, except during Typhoon Signal #1 or higher, or unless the Masungi team issues a negative weather assessment.

Occasional rain is expected, so everyone joining the event is encouraged to bring rain jackets, extra clothes, and other items for comfort.
