Plane passenger passes away mid-flight

A woman died while she was on a flight from Paris to Boston.

Per a report by NBC News, Air France confirmed that a passenger on flight AF334 “was taken ill” on the plane on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

“Despite the assistance of a doctor on board, the customer couldn’t be rescued. Air France reminds that its crew members are regularly trained to handle these kinds of situations,” the airline said in a statement.

“Air France regrets this sad event and expresses its sincere condolences,” it added.

In another report, the media outlet said the victim has been identified as Barbara Dipoli of Topeka. She was 53 years old.

Massachusetts State Police described her death as “unattended.” According to investigators, it appears that she died from a medical episode during the flight.

An investigation on what happened, including the official cause and manner of her death, is ongoing.
