Donald J. Trump has been sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, and declared that the "golden age" of America has begun.

The 60th Presidential Inauguration held on Jan. 21 (Philippine time) was graced by former US presidents and their spouses, including Dan and Marilyn Quayle, Bill and Hilary Clinton, George and Laura Bush, and Barack Obama. Former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and their spouses were also in attendance, as with tech CEOs and billionaires X's Elon Musk, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, Apple's Tim Cook, and TikTok's Shou Chew.

Social media was flooded with messages from leaders and celebrities alike during the inauguration, expressing their support of the new president.

Content creator and MMA fighter Jake Paul showed support for Trump, saying, "Any American who isn’t in support of Trump after this speech simply hates America and doesn’t want what’s best for this country and the world."

Meanwhile, a broad smile spread across Musk's face when Trump announced his administration's plan to send American astronauts to Mars. Musk has launched rockets into space through Space-X.

President Vladimir Putin, in a video message, congratulated Trump, saying Russia is ready for peaceful relations with the US.

Israel President Benjamin Netanyahu also sent his "warmest wishes" to Trump via video. "I believe that working together again will raise the US-Israel alliance to even greater heights," he said.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, "Canada and the US have the world's most successful economic partnership. We have
the chance to work together again - to create more jobs and prosperity for both our nations."

North Atlantic Treaty Organization Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed that they will "turbo-charge defence spending and production."

Actor Russell Brand simply stated, "A new era has begun." Prior to that, he shared a video of Trump's full acceptance speech on X.

This is Trump's second time serving as the US' chief of state after he held the post from 2017 to 2021. His first administration was marred by impeachment trials, slow COVID-19 action, and the controversial crackdown on illegal immigrants.

He is the first felon to occupy the White House. In May 2023, a jury in New York found him guilty of falsifying documents to cover up hush money payments to a porn star.
