Philippines tops list of buyers for Klook's Taylor Swift concert packages
Fans from the Philippines were the most eager buyers of Klook's Taylor Swift concert experience packages, the travel booking platform said.
Based on the data provided by Klook, the Philippines took the top rank among buyers based on countries of origin.
Singapore came in second on the list, followed by Indonesia and China. Malaysia rounded out the top five sources of customers.
The packages, which included tickets to the concert and a one-night stay at a four- or five-star hotel, sold out quickly.
The most popular packages were those that included tickets to the Category 1 section of the concert, including InterContinental with Cat 1 ticket, Grand Copthorne Waterfront with Cat 2 tickets, and Crowne Plaza Changi Airport with Cat 1 ticket.
These packages sold out within two hours of being released.
"We expected immense demand but safe to say that was an understatement with more than 600,000 fans from across the region eagerly waiting in line and willing to spend more than SG$1,700 on our Klook Experience Packages," said Sarah Wan, Klook's General Manager in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
"We are thankful for the patience and support from Swifties around the region and we can’t wait to help them discover and enjoy the most unforgettable experiences when they visit Singapore in March 2024,” she added.
In the first hour since it was launched yesterday, the general sale for the concert was met with over two million users in a virtual queue.
Notably, many of her dedicated Swifties have also lined up outside SingPost outlets all over Singapore, as early as 24 hours before the general sale for the singer's much-anticipated concert.
Taylor is set to perform in Singapore on March 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9 in 2024 at Singapore National Stadium.
Japan is the only other Asian country where "The Eras Tour" will take place.
Last November 2023, Swift announced "The Eras Tour," describing it as a journey through the musical eras of her career thus far.
The ongoing first leg will run from March 18 to August 5 at stadiums across the United States. It is set to conclude in August 2024.
