Woman behind death of Kim Kardashian lookalike arrested, charged
The woman who was allegedly behind the botched plastic surgery of the late model who resembled Kim Kardashian was arrested and charged.
Christina Ashten Gourkani, who was popular on OnlyFans, died of cardiac arrest on April 20 after receiving "several" injections meant to enlarge her buttocks. She was 34.
The injections were allegedly administered by a certain Vivian Gomez.
People reported that Gomez was arrested at Fort Lauderdale Airport in Florida and was charged with involuntary manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng told People that illegal injections are mostly made with silicone, which can lead to infection and deformation of body parts.
"And as with any injection, it can go into your bloodstream," Obeng is quoted as saying. "And if it gets in the bloodstream, it can block the blood vessels and cause necrosis [or dead tissue]. So that's a huge danger."
Investigators are still waiting for the toxicology report, according to Daily Post.
Gourkani's family shared details about her passing in a GoFundMe post. The fundraiser, which raised $6,607 (P368,000), is no longer accepting donations.
"If you knew Ashten you knew that everyone mattered to her. She was such a caring and loving free spirit that always took the time to bring a smile to anyone's face she crossed paths with," her family said.
