Miss Philippines acquires Miss Asia Pacific International franchise
The Miss Philippines has announced its partnership with the Miss Asia Pacific Organization.
On its social media pages, the organization shared that it will be sending a representative to the prestigious international pageant, in addition to Miss Supranational and Miss Charm.
“We are thrilled that one of our amazing queens will have the opportunity to participate in this long standing, prestigious pageant that celebrates our region,” it said.
The international pageant on its own Facebook page welcomed the organization, saying: "No cap. All crown. Welcome to the family!"
The Miss Asia Pacific International initially began as a regional pageant known as the Miss Asia Quest in 1968. In 2005, it changed its name to Miss Asia Pacific International to include countries from around the globe.
The last Filipina beauty queen who won the title was Sharifa Akeel in 2018. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been no further competitions since 2019. The pageant promised that it will be returning "with a bang" this 2024.
Meanwhile, the Miss Philippines pageant was formed only this year crowning Pauline Amelinckx as the first Miss Philippines titleholder.
