Attention all Korean drama lovers! If you're a fan of Netflix's latest K-dramas, you might want to brace yourself for some disappointing news as some of these popular shows won't be coming back for a second season.

In a report by the Hindustan Times, various new Korean dramas are set to have just one season after the streaming giant labeled them "limited series." These include titles such as Doctor Slump, My Demon, The Bequeathed, Welcome to Samdalri, and Captivating the King.

Although there is no official announcement yet from the streaming service, the media outlet said that "the presence of the 'limited series' label for these shows makes it abundantly clear that there are no plans for continuation." Otherwise, either a deliberate conclusion by the creators or an initial cancellation will be made towards the titles.

What does 'limited series' on Netflix mean?

For starters, a limited series is always told in a predefined number of episodes from the beginning to the finish. Therefore, if a show is designated as a limited series on Netflix, it indicates that it will either conclude its narrative after one season or not receive a multiple-season order.

Likewise, a limited series often has three to ten episodes; however, there are no pre-determined episode counts for the said show.

Some well-known Netflix titles under the limited series category are Treason, Tokyo Trial, The Queen's Gambit, Queen Charlotte, Strong Girl Nam-Soon, Godless, When They See Us, Maniac, and Unorthodox, among others.

Furthermore, it is important to note that some TV shows, known as limited series, have a storyline that concludes within a single season. However, some of these limited series may receive follow-up seasons that tell a different story but are within the same genre. Examples of such limited series include Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and The Haunting of Hill House.
