Here's what we know so far about Netflix's upcoming comedy K-drama 'Chicken Nugget'

Would you watch a show that involves someone turning into a chicken nugget?

Netflix is set to drop a new comedy K-drama about a man whose child transforms into the much-loved chicken dish. The streaming platform on Thursday, Feb. 8 released a six-second teaser for its upcoming offering on X.

"The rumors are true," they wrote in the caption, reposting some photo teasers from The Hollywood Handle.

Plot

Directed by Lee Byeong Heon, who showcased his brilliance in 2015 film Twenty and 2019 movie Extreme Job, Chicken Nugget revolves around a father's journey as he tries to bring his daughter back from being a chicken nugget to human again. It's based on the webtoon Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was written by Park Ji Dok.

How did his child turn into a food item? The odd incident happened when she stepped into a fatigue-relief machine and used it the wrong way.

Her father then teams up with her admirer to reverse the transformation and discover new things about her on their quest.

The duo will find out secrets and uncover mysteries as they try to bring Choi Min Ah back to human form

Cast

Leading the cast is Ryu Seung Ryong, who plays the role of a father named Choi Sun Man in the film. He is best known for his roles in hit K-drama offerings like Extreme Job, Kingdom, Miracle in Cell No. 7, and Moving.

Kim Yoo Jung portrays his daughter, Choi Min Ah. She was part of various shows like Love in the Moonlight and My Demon.

Ahn Jae Hong, meanwhile, is her admirer named Go Baek Jung in the movie. His famous K-drama appearances include Reply 1988, LTNS, and Mask Girl.

Release date

Chicken Nugget is set to premiere in the first quarter of 2024. According to a What's on Netflix, a preliminary release date has been slated for March 15. It will reportedly have 12 episodes.
