Here's what you need to know about the upcoming Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange or TCITx
Commuters to and from the South are set to have another transportation option in the near future: the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITx).
The TCITx is a P5 billion private-public partnership project between the government and Ayala Land Incorporated (ALI). The latter bagged the project in 2015 in a 35-year concession deal.
However, there have been delays due to right-of-way issues and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The six-story terminal is located at ALI's mixed-used estate Arca South, which includes the Healthway Cancer Care Hospital, a Landers Superstore, Arca South Pitch, and Ayala residential developments.
It will span 5.57 hectares, expected to accommodate 160,000 passengers and 5,200 vehicles daily.
TCITx will have a walkway connecting passengers to the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and the Metro Manila Subway. It will also be connected to provincial and city buses, as well as other public utility vehicles.
The TCITx, designed to function like the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange or PITx, is seen to benefit commuters from Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas.

“This project will be instrumental in decongesting major thoroughfares and offering a smoother journey for the riding public," Transportation Sec. Jaime Bautista told reporters during the groundbreaking ceremony.
ALI President and Chief Executive Officer Anna Ma. Margarita Dy, for her part, said TCITx "truly propels productivity and growth not just for Taguig and the southern provinces of Manila but for the country as a whole."
Citing an example, Dy said one can come from Laguna via bus and then transfer to the subway to go to Quezon City or take the NSCR and go to Pampanga.
Groundbreaking for TCITx began on Feb. 3 and is scheduled to be completed in 2027. Its operational launch is targeted in the first quarter of 2028.
Bautista said they also aim to finish a feasibility study for a similar terminal in northern Metro Manila "within the next few months."
"It's similar, as big as this," he added.
