Weekend Hangs: SuperManila Comic Con, BABYMONSTER and Ylona Garcia's concert, and more to check out this Sept. 4 to 6

The first weekend of September is here, and if you're looking for a reason to step out, the metro has plenty in store.

From a massive pop culture convention to a cheesecake-making class, there are plenty of ways to spend your weekend—whether you're going all-out or keeping things low-key.

Here are some events to check out this Sept. 4 to 6:

Sept. 4–6: Geek out at SuperManila Comic Con

Comic book and pop culture fans, this one's for you.

SuperManila Comic Con 2026 is taking over One Ayala in Makati from Sept. 4 to 6, bringing together international and Filipino artists, creators, collectors, and fans for three days of comics, entertainment, and pop culture. The event's guest roster includes C.B. Cebulski, Mike Zeck, Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, Jehyung Lee, Derrick Chew, and more.

Aside from meeting artists, attendees can browse collectibles and exclusive merchandise, check out interactive exhibits, and join panels and other activities. The convention will also feature special releases and exclusive Filipino komiks titles.

A regular pass costs P650 and gives attendees access to the convention. SuperManila will be held at The Space on Level 5 and the Concourse on Level 2 of One Ayala. The Space is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., while the Concourse runs until 9 p.m. from Sept. 4 to 6.

Sept. 5: Catch BABYMONSTER's first Manila show

K-pop fans, it's finally happening.

BABYMONSTER is bringing its 2026-27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR [CHOOM] to Manila on Saturday, Sept. 5, marking the group's first concert in the Philippines. The girl group will take the stage at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay at 7 p.m.

If you haven't secured your ticket yet, you still have a chance: Live Nation's official event page currently shows tickets for the Manila show, though availability may change quickly.

The concert will be held on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Tickets are available through SM Tickets, subject to availability.

Sept. 5: Celebrate 10 years of Ylona Garcia

Ylona Garcia is coming home to celebrate a major milestone.

The Filipino-Australian singer is marking her 10th year in the music industry with a two-part homecoming celebration in the Philippines. Her second show takes place on Sept. 5 at Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Taguig, following an intimate event in Quezon City on Sept. 4.

The anniversary shows look back on Garcia's decade-long music career while giving fans a chance to celebrate the milestone with her on home turf.

Admission to the Sept. 5 event is free, but slots are limited. Fans can pre-register for a chance to meet Ylona at an exclusive meet-and-greet photo opportunity.

The event will take place on Sept. 5 at Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Taguig City.

Sept. 5: Learn how to make cheesecake at Heny Sison Culinary School

Calling all cheesecake lovers! Spend your Saturday learning how to make three elegant cheesecake flavors at the Heny Sison Culinary School in Quezon City—or join the class from home.

The Cheesecake Class 2 will cover three recipes: Key Lime Cheesecake, Tiramisu Cheesecake, and Three Chocolate Cheesecake. The class runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 5, with both on-site and live online options available.

The on-site class costs P4,500 and will be held at 33 Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue, Quezon City. The live online class is also P4,500 and will be conducted via Zoom. Additional service fees may apply.

Sept. 6: Run smarter at the KSYN Makati Run Clinic

For those who'd rather start Sunday morning on their feet, KSYN Fitness Makati is holding a Run Clinic in partnership with Fits Bump at Ayala Triangle Garden.

The clinic is designed to help runners build better fundamentals, improve their movement, and develop proper running mechanics. Participants will cover running basics such as posture, head position, arm swing, foot strike, and cadence.

There will also be movement and agility drills, including cone weaving, one-foot and two-foot ladder drills, and the Icky Shuffle.

The clinic starts with a 6 a.m. meet-up on Sept. 6 at Ayala Triangle Garden in Makati. KSYN Makati members can join for free, while non-members pay P250. Each registered participant will also receive a complimentary Pocari Sweat drink.
