Dare to enter? What to expect at Ocean Park Hong Kong Halloween Fest 2025

Famous for its pandas, penguins, and grand aquarium, Ocean Park also thrills visitors with roller coasters, cable cars, and stunning ocean views. But when the spooky season rolls in, the park takes on a whole new life—or afterlife. It transforms into a Halloween haven, a playground of screams where haunted houses, eerie live shows, and immersive scare zones lurk around every corner. This year, the park features six unique haunted experiences.

Six ways to scream, one unforgettable night. Welcome to Ocean Park’s Halloween Fest!

One standout is The Hatred Box, which cleverly plays on the trendy concept of blind boxes—you never know what you’re going to get. Inside, every twist and turn delivered a new shock, and we definitely put our vocal cords to the test with all the screaming!

True crime fans won’t be disappointed with The Unsolved Terrors, an attraction that delves into some of Hong Kong’s most chilling crime scenes. It would’ve been even more spine-tingling with English translations, but the realistic set design and atmosphere more than made up for it.

We came, we screamed, we barely survived. Here are our top 3 haunted houses that messed with our nerves (and sense of smell).

Then there’s H25: Rising Fear, a multi-sensory haunted house that doesn’t just play with your sight and sound—it targets your sense of smell, too. Gross, but genius.

According to Ocean Park Hong Kong chief executive Ivan Wong, they experimented with different scents to make the experience feel as real—and as terrifying—as possible.

Meanwhile, we found ourselves running and screaming our way through The Cannibal Woods and The Soul Graveyard, both packed with jump scares at every turn. Sadly, the line for The Ritual Mansion was far too long for us to make it inside—but judging by the crowd’s excitement (and the screams coming from within), it’s clearly one of this year’s favorites.

If you’re not exactly into scaring your pants off, there’s still plenty to enjoy at Halloween Fest. The park comes alive with live performances, offering a fun break from all the frights.

A crowd favorite is the K-pop–inspired dance group Gangnam’s Devils, who light up The Summit Plaza with their high-energy moves and catchy beats. You can also snap photos with street performers and cosplayers scattered around the park—perfect for adding a touch of spooky fun to your feed.

A mix of flavors and flair—Mammy Pancake’s egg waffles, street performances, and the energy of Gangnam’s Devils.

Pro Tip: Arrive early to beat the queues and stay until 11 p.m. for the full experience. Book a nearby hotel like the Marriott or Fullerton to rest your feet after a long day.

Scary good eats

Theme park food can be hit or miss, but Ocean Park Hong Kong exceeded expectations—no surprise in a city famous for its Michelin-starred restaurants.

From left to right: prawn curry at Ginger Grill, dining by the Grand Aquarium at Neptune’s, and a special prosperity chicken.

We grabbed lunch at Ginger Grill, where the menu serves up flavorful Thai dishes fresh off the grill. We also dined at Neptune’s Restaurant, which offers comforting Hong Kong favorites paired with an unbeatable view of the Grand Aquarium. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a warm meal while watching graceful rays and colorful fish drift by.

Pandas and splash fun

Of course, no trip to Ocean Park Hong Kong is complete without visiting its beloved twin pandas, Jia Jia and De De. These gentle giants remain one of the park’s main draws and a nice “calm” stop between all the horror zones.

If you’re visiting for more than a day, consider dropping by Water World, Ocean Park’s massive water park expansion. It’s just a few minutes away and adds another layer of fun for families or adrenaline junkies.

A calm stop with the twin pandas before diving into Water World’s wild slides—balance achieved.

Pro Tip: Don’t miss out on the Vortex! and SkyHigh Falls and splash around with your squad.

The perfect home base

For an elevated experience, consider staying at the Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel. Being steps away from the entrance means you can easily maximize your park time and save your energy for the attractions.

When the scares end, comfort begins. The Ocean Park Marriott is literally a few steps away.

After hours of walking, queuing, and running from jump scares, you’ll want to collapse into bed as soon as you exit the park. The Marriott’s lush garden vibe and spacious rooms make it the perfect contrast to the chaos of the park.

If you want to splurge or go beyond Ocean Park, The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel is another luxurious option. Its pool overlooks the bay—perfect for a relaxing dip after a day of screams. You can even book the exact room where football superstar Lionel Messi stayed during one of his trips to Hong Kong. And don’t miss the Fullerton buffet, which serves up a wide spread of delicious dishes to fuel you for another day of thrills.

Yes, Lionel Messi stayed here. The suite comes with its own infinity pool and a breathtaking view of the bay.

Pro Tip: Don’t skip the Singaporean classics at the buffet—bak kut teh, Hainanese chicken rice, and of course, a chocolate chip cookie to satisfy your sweet tooth!

From jump scares to pandas, Ocean Park Hong Kong’s Halloween Fest 2025 is pure, unadulterated fun, even for Halloween skeptics. Go on, scream a little (or a lot), eat a lot, and enjoy every spooky second before it ends on Nov. 2.
