South Korea is undeniably charming, even more so when its cherry blossom trees are in full bloom.

For Hallyu fans, stepping into the Land of the Morning Calm is a dream come true. From bustling cities to serene parks, the country offers countless spots where you can soak in the beauty of spring.

Whether you’re planning a trip to South Korea or just dreaming of one, we’ve picked some top cherry blossom spots for your itinerary, along with the estimated best time to catch them.

Nami Island

Do you remember Kim Tae-hee's emotional scene in the final episode of Hi Bye Mama? It was filmed in Nami Island in Chuncheon. It's also the filming spot for the 2002 drama Winter Sonata.

Cherry blossoms in this spot usually bloom in early April. Other activities you can do here include riding a Nami Skyline Zip Wire, cycling, and posing for photos at the French-inspired village Petit France, the Italian Village, and the Winter Sonata statue.

Bomun Lake

You can also take a stroll around the man-made Bomun Lake in Gyeongju. Cherry blossom trees in this city usually bloom in late March to early April. If you have the time, check out the Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Festival for the full experience.

Some leisure activities you can do here are going on thrill rides at Silla Millennium Park, taking photos at the Teddy Bear Museum, visiting the Gyeongju Bird Park, or paddling a boat on the lake.

Cherry Blossom Road in Hadong

Known as the "wedding road," the four-kilometer Simni Cherry Blossom Road in Hadong is also among the popular spots to enjoy the sakura. According to Korea Tourism, it is believed that when a couple walks down this road while holding hands, they will be together for a hundred years.

Cherry blossoms usually bloom in late March to early April.

Jeonnong-ro Cherry Blossom Street

If you're visiting Jeju, where popular K-dramas like Crash Landing On You, Our Blues, and When Life Gives You Tangerines were filmed, be sure to go on a walk along the Jeonnong-ro, which is famous for its 1.2-kilometer cherry blossom tunnel. The sakuras here also bloom from late March to early April. You can also join the festivities during the Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival in Jeonnong-ro and Jangjeon-ri.

Yeouido Park

If you're spending some time in Seoul, make sure to visit Yeouido Park. You can also take part in leisure and cultural activities during the Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival, which is usually held in early to mid-April.

To make the most of your experience, hop on an E-land Hangang River Cruise, where you can enjoy buffet dinners with live music and take in its scenic views while biking and picnicking. A visit to Ttukseom Hangang Park might also be worth your while.
