Jodi Sta. Maria has a heart of gold when it comes to animals. After rescuing a stray kitten at the airport earlier this year, she now wants to help more animals.

On Facebook, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) shared pictures of the actress, who was with her son Thirdy and pet Naia as they visited their shelter to donate food and other goods for animals.

"Thank you for donating your love," the non-government organization wrote. "Aside from bringing donations to the shelter, actress and animal lover Jodi Sta. Maria and her family also gave all the rescued animals they met today something very priceless and memorable for them, just pure love."

They said that the Unbreak My Heart star "wants to be able to help more animals in need" and to promote "better animal welfare" to the public.

"Thank you Jodi for not just giving Naia a good home but for also sharing your blessings with more animals in need and inspiring others to do the same," PAWS continued.

In another post, PAWS shared a video tour of the shelter with Jodi, who they said was interested in learning more about the stories of the animals at PAWS' shelter and how she could help support in making a difference in the lives of animals in need.

Last January 6, Jodi shared on Instagram that she has rescued a stray cat at the airport and had brought him to the vet.

In her post, she wrote, “As I was walking down the ramp ng Arrival ng NAIA Terminal 1, I heard a kitten meowing its heart out as if asking for help and food. Tapos nakita ko siya na nababangga ng cart ng mga pasahero. Lost in space siya sa chaos ng airport. I asked for a plastic bag, nilagay ko siya sa loob tapos nilabas ko yung head nya then isinakay sa van.”

If you want to help abandoned pets like Jodi, PAWS said you may do so by donating in cash or in kind through their GCash or Globe Rewards. You may also sign up as a regular donor and contribute for as low as P300/month at paws.org.ph/donate.

PAWS is also accepting donations via bank transfers through the following:
