Here’s your first look at IKEA Philippines—the Swedish brand’s biggest store in the world

Excited about the opening of IKEA Philippines? The hotly anticipated flagship store in the country is set to open its doors to the public on Nov. 25, and we're giving you a first look!

The furnishing brand has made it a point that customers will have a fun and safe experience amid the COVID-19 pandemic. First and foremost, you have to book a slot on its official website to manage the influx of shoppers and reduce the risk of infection in the store. Apart from the installation of hand sanitizers in every corner, it has likewise made it spacious enough so that home enthusiasts can maintain social distancing at all times—it’s the biggest IKEA branch in the whole world, and mind you, it’s as huge as 150 basketball courts.

We got a first look at the store ahead of its opening day and found out that it has a market hall, a showroom, planning room, sewing space, and a spacious Swedish café where customers can enjoy its iconic meatballs and so much more. Click through the gallery below for a glimpse of it in anticipation of your scheduled appointment.

“Customers can look forward to meeting the full IKEA range, presented in a locally relevant way, something they could not find anywhere else in the world,” store manager Georg Platzer told PhilSTAR L!fe. “There’s also instant gratification. Most of the products we present will be available to take away the very same day. It’s the perfect chance to shop for Christmas.”
