Megaworld's hotels and resorts off to new heights
Through more than three decades, property giant Megaworld has successfully grown and expanded its hotel portfolio under Megaworld Hotels & Resorts. At present, the company has more than 6,000 hotel room keys from 12 operating hotel properties in key tourism destinations across the archipelago.
From having only about 350 hotel rooms back in 2014, Megaworld has expanded its hotel room keys almost 20 times in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Iloilo, and Batangas.
Hospitality at its peak
In Newport City, guests staying at Savoy Hotel Manila can dine, shop, and treat themselves to a world of entertainment options. Fun destinations like Newport World Resorts and Newport Mall, among others, are easily just a few blocks away from the hotel. Also, Belmont Hotel Manila sits just a few steps away from Runway Manila, an enclosed, air-conditioned 220-meter pedestrian link bridge that connects the township to Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Elsewhere in the country are several equally dynamic tourism developments: Hotel Lucky Chinatown in Binondo; Twin Lakes Hotel in Laurel, Batangas near Tagaytay; Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown and Belmont Hotel Mactan both in Mactan, Cebu; Savoy Hotel Boracay and Belmont Hotel Boracay, both in Boracay, Aklan.
The most notable addition to Megaworld’s growing portfolio is the 1,530-room Grand Westside Hotel within the company’s 31-hectare Westside City township in Parañaque City. Opening this month, Grand Westside Hotel will bear the distinction as the Philippines’ biggest hotel development in terms of hotel keys to date.
Boosting the economy one hotel at a time
Last year, Megaworld served more than 1.3 million guests and generated nearly 3,000 jobs in its properties across the country. In the next few years, the company is looking to add 1,000 more jobs from three new hotels that that will be opened in Metro Manila, Boracay, and Iloilo.
By 2029, Megaworld will further grow its hospitality portfolio with more hotel properties such as ArcoVia Hotel in Pasig City; Savoy Hotel Capital Town in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga; Chancellor Hotel in Boracay; Kingsford Hotel in Bacolod; and Savoy Hotel Palawan and Paragua Sands Hotel in San Vicente, Palawan.
These will bring the total number of the company’s hotel developments to 20 by 2029, thus solidifying Megaworld’s market dominance in the fast-growing tourism sector.
