What to expect at the Big Bad Wolf sale in BGC this November
It's time to make room on your bookshelves, as Big Bad Wolf Books is hosting another sale in Bonifacio Global City with must-read titles up to 95% off, alongside rare and signed collectible editions you wouldn’t want to miss.
For the first time in the Philippines, London's renowned independent bookseller Goldsboro Books is bringing a selection of its rare, signed first editions and exclusive releases to Filipino readers.
Whether you're a seasoned collector or simply someone who appreciates a beautifully made book, these editions are sure to add some flair to your shelves.
PhilSTAR L!fe got a preview of what's in store at Big Bad Wolf Books Manila 2026, happening from Nov. 5 to 18 at the fifth floor of Park Triangle Mall in Bonifacio Global City. Here's what you can expect at this year's book fair:
Rows upon rows of books
You shouldn't be fooled by the book fair's smaller venue at Park Triangle Mall, as it still packs in plenty of titles for every kind of reader.

Right off the bat, you'll be greeted by a section that holds the Top 10 books for fiction and non-fiction. This is perfect for those who may not have an idea of what to pick up and are looking for a handy starting point for their book hunt.
The first half of the area mostly comprises books for kids and middle-grade readers, with a few titles for older audiences sprinkled in. Some of the books you can find right away include box sets for the Harry Potter series (P4,400), the Twilight books (P620 each), A Court of Thorns and Roses (P960), It Ends With Us (P820), The Housemaid's Secret (P560), among others.
The real treats, however, await as you explore further into the venue.
As always, the books are organized by genre, so you don't have to worry about rummaging through every table just to find something that suits your taste.
The Romance section holds plenty of new and popular titles for readers who love a good dose of kilig, drama, and happily-ever-afters. If you want to immerse yourself in a book about a swoony single-dad firefighter, you might want to pick up Fall at Once (P500), while those who gravitate to opposites-attract romance can grab Dating and Other Theories (P400).
Horror fans can also get their fill of unsettling stories as the Big Bad Wolf sale holds many works from the King of Horror himself, Stephen King. These include The Dark Half (P560), You Like It Darker (P660), and Thinner (P560).
Of course, local books get their own space, too. A highlight of the section is The Rain in España, which has since been adapted into a television series starring Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo.
The last area of the book fair mostly holds non-fiction books covering all sorts of topics, from architecture and graphic design to baking and self-help.
Signed first editions
The main highlight of this year's sale is the rare books brought in by Goldsboro Books, which have visually striking covers, sprayed edges, and even the authors' signatures.
One book in the selection is Adam & Eve, which is the final novel of late author Jeffrey Archer. It follows Adam, a shepherd's son, and Eve, an earl's daughter, whose lives become intertwined after being born on the same day in 1918.
The featured signed edition is part of a limited run of just 2,500 copies produced worldwide.
You can also get your hands on Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash, which centers on the dysfunctional Flynn family as their lives spiral into chaos after their parents' open marriage begins to unravel.
Looking for a story set in Korea? Look no further than Honey in the Wound by Jiyoung Han, a multigenerational family saga about a gifted Korean family forced to navigate the brutality of Japanese imperial rule.
The featured signed edition is part of a limited run of just 500 copies produced worldwide.
Because of their rarity, these books do come with a heftier price tag. The signed copy of The Lore of Silver, for instance, costs P2,305.
But if you have some money to spare, say a few thousand, you may be interested in getting the three highest-priced books in the fair: First Among Equals (P17,700), Mortal Engines (P32,500), and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts 1 and 2 (P1,777,000). All of them are signed editions.
Hard-to-resist discounts
If the collectible editions aren’t enough to draw you in, the discounts of up to 95% will certainly send you into a book-buying frenzy.
You can make your way to the “Unbelievable Titles” selection for books starting at just P60. It's a good excuse to step out of your reading comfort zone, as you can explore a whole world of different genres and new authors.
If you've got a little extra to spend, you may want to treat yourself to the “Spend More, Save More” promotion, which offers instant rebates on eligible purchases made in a single receipt. You can get P150 off when you spend P2,800, P300 off when you spend P3,500, and P500 off when you spend P5,000.
More than just books
If your book haul isn't enough, you'll be happy to know that the sale also has a selection of bookish goodies and collectibles.
One item that may catch your eye is a Stranger Things tarot deck (P620), which contains aesthetic illustrations inspired by the hit Netflix series.
You can also stock up on some handy reading accessories, such as magnetic bookmarks priced at P100 each and magnetic badges for P150 each. Better yet, both come with a buy-two-get-one-free deal.
What comes next?
While the sale has plenty of genres to choose from, manga is one category that's missing from the lineup.
However, Jacqueline Ng, co-founder and director of Big Bad Wolf Books, told PhilSTAR L!fe that she would love to offer them in future sales.
"I would love to, but I didn't have the source. For manga, we tried it before, but to be very frank with you, it's really hard for us to manage manga because in Malaysia, all our books are subject to censorship," she explained.
"So manga is a little bit hard for us to go through that process. So we tend to avoid it. That's why you don't see it at the events. But I hope one day we could," she added.
For new customers who aren't sure how to navigate such a large book sale as Big Bad Wolf, she advised them to wear comfortable clothing, as there's a lot of walking.
"The best thing is to bring a suitcase with wheels. I think that's the easiest to manage, because I see people struggling with their purchases. They didn't expect to buy that much, but when they saw the books, they were like, 'Oh, this is for my sister. This is for my niece. I want to get this for my friend.' So they got a lot more than what they expected," Ng said.
