LOOK: New, bigger OFW lounge opens at NAIA Terminal 3

Overseas Filipino Workers can now relax at a new and more spacious lounge while waiting for their flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Situated at NAIA Terminal 3 near Gate 7, the new area opened its doors to the public last Friday, July 19.

According to a report by The Philippine STAR, it was unveiled by San Miguel Corporation and NAIA Infrastructure Corporation President and CEO Ramon Ang along with Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, Manila International Airport Authority general manager Eric Ines, and two Partylist representatives.

The new OFW Lounge at NAIA Terminal 3

The designated spot for OFWs is complete with a charging station, comfortable seats, hot and cold drinks, as well as finger food. It can accommodate 200 individuals in one flight.

The new area was unveiled last Friday, July 19.

In February 2023, Zamboanga Sibugay 1st District Rep. Wilter Palma proposed the OFW Resting Lounge Act, to create spaces for overseas workers in the country's airports. 

The first OFW lounge opened at NAIA Terminal 1 in January. It’s situated at the fourth level of the departure area in Terminal 1, where a closed restaurant and spa used to be.

The STAR reported that more OFW lounges will be established in international airports in Clark, Pampanga, Mactan-Cebu, and Davao. (with reports from Rudy Santos)
