This is how McDonald’s keeps up its steadfast commitment to food quality in their Best Burgers
McDonald’s Best Burgers stands as a testament to their commitment to upholding the highest standards of product excellence. Through meticulous sourcing and preparations, McDonald's has crafted burgers that are one-off to ensure that the brand consistently meets a certain standard of food quality.
Here are some of the ways McDonald’s keeps product quality at the core of what they do.
Working hand-in-hand with suppliers
McDonald’s now uses brioche buns for the Best Burgers, which are moist, chewy, and “silky” compared to the old buns. Some diners couldn’t help but ask, “Ano bang skincare ng buns nila?”
According to a representative from McDonald’s bun supplier, TJ Young, “At McDonald's, we're always trying to serve better, so we listened to consumer sentiments and reviews. We looked at how we made our burgers previously to figure out how we could do better and came up with small changes. For its buns, we are introducing new, softer buns that look just as good as they taste and are free from artificial preservatives, flavors, and colors. The buns are freshly toasted to a golden brown.
McDonald’s also takes pride in sourcing their vegetables from three local farmer communities from Benguet and South Luzon. These farms are the only Global Good Agricultural Practice-certified farms in the Philippines.
McDonald's Philippines has also trained these communities to understand and comply with global agricultural standards, making sure they harvest only the highest quality and safest lettuce for consumers.
As for the heart of a good burger, the patties, McDonald’s’ commitment to providing ingredients of the highest standard transcends distance, with patties that contain 100% beef responsibly sourced across New Zealand, Australia, and South America.
These suppliers also go through careful accreditation processes, such as the Animal Health and Welfare Program, Raw Material Sponsorship Program, McDonald's Sustainability Requirements, Supplier Quality Management System, and Supplier Workplace Accountability, to ensure only quality beef is used for the Best Burgers.
When change comes from within
Behind changes to every layer of Best-Ever Burgers are careful reviews on how McDonald’s can apply improvements, from ingredients to the overall look and taste. That said, the brand does not stray away from ensuring that it is able to uphold best practices in producing quality burgers.
McDonald’s staff also undergo vigorous training and practice through Market Training of Restaurant from Operations Leads, Restaurant Managers, and Crew focusing on Product Quality, Gold Standard, Critical to Quality and Food Safety; Training of Suppliers and Restaurant Support Center through Gold Standard Class, and Quality Assurance by regularly monitoring ingredients.
With all these, McDonald’s is able to make sure that everyone in the crew is committed to serving only the best—burgers that meet the Gold Standard.
You can truly make sure that McDonald’s will only serve you the highest quality ingredients when it comes to their Best Burgers, such as Double Cheeseburger, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Big Mac (or any McDonald’s burger).
