Almost Heaven: Your lakeside sanctuary in Cavinti
There exists a haven between Cavinti and Lake Lumot in Laguna called Almost Heaven. This quaint, pristine, and unspoiled resort is a hideaway that embodies calmness and bliss. It is a place that comes to mind whenever you long for somewhere that feels like home.

Our dear friends and lovely hosts—Agnes Lachica Macapia, Atty. Gigi Lachica, Atty. Judith Luis, the wonderful couple Divine and Buddy Recio, and Angel and Doug Ocampo—introduced this place to us. Together, we shared freshly picked rambutan—a tangy-sweet fruit—its taste forever imprinted in our hearts as we exchanged stories, laughter, and memories that will always belong to this place.
I shared that Cavinti and its adjacent lakeshore hold a very meaningful place in my heart and in my family’s history. Way back in the 1980s, when Caliraya was being developed, our father Ting Dayrit was able to purchase and sell some parcels of land. With the income he earned, he acquired the space where our ancestral home now stands.
I reminisced about the many summers spent here boating, swimming, and even fishing. I was slowly becoming melancholic when they announced the start of heart art, where you paint your feelings or a favorite scripture.
Cuisine is delicately prepared by our excellent private chef, Sarnel. Each dish is abundantly served with savory fresh meat, local fruits, and seafood cooked to perfection—wrapped in care and passion. Flavors waft through the air, so inviting and aromatic that they awaken your culinary senses.
