NAIA launches new logo, online pages after privatization
The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has launched a new logo, website, and social media pages as part of its ongoing revamp following its privatization.
The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) announced on Wednesday, Sept. 18 the new changes for the airport, including its new logo in a minimalist blue color.
The new website will serve as a hub for travelers, where they can get real-time flight updates as well as information on airport services and amenities.
It also has a section named Bagong Bayani, which will feature inspiring stories of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
NAIA's Facebook and X accounts are now under the username, newnaiaph, which will serve “as additional channels for sharing updates, engaging the public, and building a community around the NAIA transformation.”
Ramon Ang, president and CEO of NNIC, said the launch of their new site and socials is part of their "commitment to open communication and transparency."
The changes came after the turnover of management to the San Miguel-led consortium on Sept. 14, which won the bidding to take over the NAIA rehabilitation project worth P170 billion.
The corporation said that they would implement gradual changes, such as upgrading terminals and facilities, to ensure the safety and comfort of the passengers. These include the passenger processing system, baggage handling, enhanced Wi-Fi, and electrical and air conditioning, among others. NAIA also aims to increase the airport’s capacity to accommodate 35 to 62 million passengers annually.
The new management is likewise planning to reassign the airport terminals, though the definitive date of their implementation is yet to be announced.
