Glaiza de Castro sells vacation home in Baler, says 'priorities have shifted'
After eight years, Glaiza de Castro is bidding goodbye to her vacation house in Baler, Aurora.
The actress announced that she is selling her family house, which she bought in 2018.
"At the time, it was simply a place where we could escape, slow down, and spend time together," she wrote on her social media pages. "But over the years, it became so much more."
"It became the place where our family gathered for birthdays, celebrations, long weekends, and those ordinary days that somehow became some of our favorite memorie," she recalled.
De Castro shared that like many people during the pandemic, their life has changed; she and her family found themselves spending more time in Baler, in which she found a deeper appreciation for the province.
"What started as a holiday home eventually became a family project. Little by little, we poured our time, ideas and love into developing it," the actress said, sharing they made multiple home improvements, and eventually opened it to guests through Airbnb.
"It was incredibly special to see other families and friends create their own memories there. Now, life is changing again," she said.
Now that they have different priorities and new plans for the future, de Castro, who is expecting a baby, is selling the vacation house.
"After much thought, we feel that it is time to let this special place begin a new chapter with another family," she wrote.
She hopes to find a new owner who will see the place as a space "with warmth, character, and so much potential."
"A place where families can gather. Where friends can celebrate. Where children can grow up making memories. Where someone can wake up, breathe a little deeper, and appreciate the beauty of life," she said.
"We have made so many memories here, and now we are ready to pass the keys—and the opportunity to create many more—to someone new," De Castro continued.

De Castro is married to Irish businessman David Rainey, having first tied the knot in Ireland in 2021, atop a coastal cliff overlooking the medieval Dunluce Castle ruins where part of the hit series Game of Thrones was filmed.
They later exchanged “I Dos” for the second time around in a beach-themed wedding in Zambales in 2023. That same year, she and her husband opened up a cafe in Baler called Brewboxbaler. The cafe closed a year later
She is giving birth to her first baby this year.
