People don’t believe North West can paint like Bob Ross—and Kim Kardashian is pissed
Who knew that a seven-year-old can be a much better painter than most of us adults?
Proud mom Kim Kardashian shared a photo of a painting by her "little artist" North West. It was an oil painting of a beautiful landscape of a snowy mountain—and people couldn't believe that she actually did it!
One commenter on West's parody Instagram account, @norisblackbook, said, "No way you painted this by yourself." Someone also wrote, "The paint by numbers are getting reeeeal intricate in pandemic life." Another one commented that while she believes North is a talented kid, "this was not done by a 7 year old," she wrote.
And others still couldn't help but see a likeness to the famous painter Bob Ross' style. "Someone's been watching Bob Ross re-runs!"
As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone.
When the comments got to Kardashian, she clarified that West "has been taking a serious oil painting class" with her best friend, and that West "worked incredibly hard" on getting the painting done, which took several weeks. "As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone," she wrote on her Instagram story.
Kardashian also defended her daughter and expressed her anger towards those who talked badly about her kid. "How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome," she wrote. "Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT!!! NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERDIOTDDDDDABCDEFGZFDT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [sic]"
One Twitter user named @domesticlala thinks that Kardashian is not lying. She shared a screenshot of a now deleted Instagram post by Tracy Romulus, who is Kardashian's friend and colleague, and the post shows a similar painting by her child, Ryan. Judging by Romulus' account, it seems like Ryan is the best friend Kardashian was referring to in her IG story. "I believe they’re using the same oil painting tutor for their kids, these are carefully guided art lessons to learn techniques I think," wrote @domesticlala.

Her theory was "seemingly confirmed" when she came across a TikTok video of a woman who also painted like West and Romulus. "I can't believe that I am put in the position that I am probably one of the only people in the world who has evidence to prove that Kim is not lying," TikToker @camrynfred said. Basically, she was saying that her mom, who is an art teacher for 30 years, has taught her and other beginners the same techniques in painting.
"Everyone that goes to her classes goes through this exact same painting when they're starting out," she said.
