Chicken inasal and adobo made it to TasteAtlas' world best chicken dishes list for April 2026.

In its latest ranking, Inasal na Manok placed third with 4.4 rating. The grilled chicken dish, which originated in Western Visayas, is made with a mixture of vinegar and ingredients such as lemongrass, garlic, and ginger, and is brushed with annatto-infused oil for its signature golden color. Chicken inasal is no stranger in TasteAtlas' ranking, as it was previously recognized in 2022 and 2024.

Chicken adobo, meanwhile, ranked 40th with 4.1 score. In this traditional stew dish, the chicken is marinated and cooked with garlic, onions, bay leaves, peppercorns, oil, brown sugar, soy sauce, and white vinegar. This is best paired with rice.

Topping the list is South Korea's fried chicken, followed by Peru's Pollo a la brasa or roasted chicken both with 4.4 scores. Other popular dishes included in the list are Japan's karaage, torikatsu, and Yakitori, the United Kingdom's Chicken Tikka Masala, and Taiwanese popcorn chicken.

The Department of Tourism welcomed the latest recognition, saying that this help "elevate Filipino culinary traditions on the global stage while creating meaningful opportunities across the food and tourism value chain—from farmers and food producers to chefs, restaurateurs, and small business owners."

TasteAtlas is "an encyclopedia of flavors." It features a collection of maps of traditional dishes, local ingredients, and authentic restaurants that have earned recognition locally and worldwide. It has recognized Philippine cuisine several times.
