Makati's The Curator makes it to Asia's 50 Best Bars list for 2023
The Curator made it to Asia's 50 Best Bars list for the seventh year in a row.
Led by Bernice Tiu and David Ong, the Makati bar is known for its caffeinated beverages and mixed drinks. "The coffee is taken in the space up front, a bright-and-breezy area with an excellent range of coffees from across the Asian region. The suitably impressive cocktails are served in an intimate back room. The understated bar plays host to a regular schedule of global bartender takeovers and majors in Filipino spirits," the annual list stated on its website.
"A beautifully designed cocktail menu is filled with fun descriptions, a flavor map and, crucially, a credit for the bartender who invented them," it added.
In an Instagram post, Ong expressed his gratitude for their bar's recent achievement. "We would not be here if it were not for you all - you guys are amazing."
"The last few years have been tough for the Food & Beverage Industry in the Philippines, and so this really means a lot to us! Having said that, we speak for everyone when we say, 'Kumain / Uminom ka na ba?' Please come to the Philippines, we cannot wait to host you," he wrote.
Voted the best bar in the Philippines, the establishment has managed to maintain a spot on the 50 Best list for seven consecutive years—from 2017 to 2023.
According to its official website, the drinking spot opened in December 2013 inside Cyrano Wine Shop & Deli in Legazpi Village, Makati, serving coffee during the day and cocktails at night.
It took over the wine shop three years later and has since served coffee up front and handcrafted cocktails in the back.
The Curator is located at 34 Legaspi Street, Legazpi Village, Makati.
