Lil Nas X has definitely come a long way.

A few years after working at Taco Bell for his first job as a teenager, the singer has been appointed as the food brand’s Chief Impact Officer. The interesting role comes with a collaboration for fun food and entertainment experiences around the singer’s upcoming album Montero. This includes his involvement with the launch of its breakfast campaign featuring menu innovations such as the Cheesy Toasted Breakfast Burrito, Hash Brown Toasted Breakfast Burrito, and the Grande Toasted Breakfast Burrito.

“Lil Nas X knows the job, the experience, and the culture Taco Bell creates for its fans—including its people,” Taco Bell CEO Mark King said in a press release. “This unique partnership will deliver on more than just marketing, allowing us to tap into the genius of Lil Nas X to inspire our team members and align with our commitment to unlocking opportunities for young people.”

For her part, Jennifer Frommer—SVP Brand Partnerships and Commercial Sync at Columbia Records—referred to the 22-year-old singer as “one of the most important voices of his generation.”

“His expertise in understanding social media and youth culture alongside his skills in creating great music makes this partnership with Taco Bell exciting, brave, and one of the most innovative campaigns I’ve had the pleasure of creating,” she added.

As Taco Bell’s chief impact officer, the two-time Grammy Award winner will also “support the Taco Bell Foundation’s mission and help announce awards to recipients of the Live Mas scholarship to enable them to pursue their creative passions.”

Indeed, “Life has come full circle,” as Lil Nas X put it—and we can’t wait to find out what else this special tie-up has in store for all.
