Due to schedule-related issues, director Jerrold Tarog revealed he is not a part of ABS-CBN’s Darna remake anymore.

This was confirmed after the renowned filmmaker replied to a netizen, who asked him about the upcoming series on Twitter. He declared, however, that “some doors remain open regarding my future involvement in the Ravelo universe.”

“We will see,” he wrote. “For now, I wish ABS-CBN and Jane de Leon all the best. Let’s continue to support them.”

It can be recalled that in 2018, Tarog replaced Erik Matti, who cited “creative differences” with Star Cinema as his reason for backing out of the highly anticipated show.

The filming for the Philippine superhero movie adaptation started in January 2020, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Darna is set to take flight again this year, ABS-CBN COO of Broadcast Cory Vidanes disclosed at the contract renewal of Jane de Leon, who replaced Liza Soberano due to the latter’s finger injury.
