'The Bear' is ending with Season 5—report
Will The Bear soon hold its last service?
Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series The Bear is ending with its upcoming fifth season, a source told Deadline.
Other entertainment outlets like Variety are also attributing the comedy-drama's wrap after recurring guest star Jamie Lee Curtis posted a photo with Abby Elliott, who plays her on-screen daughter, Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto.
"FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with," she wrote on Feb. 18.
"Got to finish it out with my baby Berzatto bear, [Abby]."
In The Bear, Curtis plays Donna, the troubled mother of protagonist Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Natalie, and the late Mikey (Jon Bernthal) Berzatto.
In a March 5 interview, Access Hollywood asked Curtis about whether the show was really in the can.
"But everybody's confirmed the show is ending. I don't understand why that's such a [big deal]. Unless I'm gonna get a call from all the people saying, 'You just told [everyone],' I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn't, then I've completely blown it."
The show may really be at the end of its road, as season 4 ended with Carmy telling Syd (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) that he wants to leave the fine-dining restaurant he created with the crew.
Season 5 was greenlit in July 2025 and is set to premiere later in the year.
The Bear also stars Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matthy Matheson, Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter, and Molly Gordon.
