Stell of SB19, Janella Salvador, Morisette, and other Filipino stars welcome arrival of Disney+

Popular Filipino singers including Morissette, Christian Bautista, Janella Salvador, Stell of SB19, Zack Tabudlo and Zephanie came together for a magical night to celebrate the much-awaited arrival of Disney+ in the Philippines.

Filmed against the backdrop of iconic landmarks in the Philippines, the stars gathered for “A Night of Wonder with Disney+,” a variety special featured live on Thursday, Nov. 17 on Disney+ and social media platforms in the Philippines. The special will also be available on the streaming service from November 17 to 23.

The star-studded showcase hosted by Catriona Gray and Robi Domingo opened with a medley of Disney favorites including "When You Wish Upon a Star" (Pinocchio) performed by Zephanie, "How Far I'll Go" (Moana) performed by Janella Salvador, “Circle of Life” (The Lion King) performed by Stell of SB19 and “Into the Unknown” (Frozen 2) performed by all three singers. 

Zack Tabudlo also performed a rendition of American rock band, The Score's, "Unstoppable."

The concert show also included video greetings from some of the biggest names in the movie and entertainment industry who currently star in shows featured on the streaming platform, including Olivia Rodrigo, Chris Evans, Ewan McGregor, and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo.

For the grand finale, viewers were treated to a medley of iconic Disney classics with Morissette and Christian Bautista performing duets of “A New World” (Aladdin) and “Beauty and the Beast” before vocal powerhouse Morissette performed an original song entitled “Imagine More” which is now available on various streaming services.

“A Night of Wonder with Disney+” also showcased content highlights from Disney+’s six iconic brandsDisney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Starweaving them together with Filipino elements including historic landmarks, tourist sites, and natural scenery around the Philippines. Throughout the show, scenes from The Walt Disney Company were projected onto Manila’s landmarks.

Even Mickey and Minnie Mouse made a special appearance dressed in a barong and Filipiniana gown. The show concluded with a fireworks and drone display over Manila Bay.

Starting Nov. 17, consumers in the Philippines can now access the Disney+ streaming service with a new range of subscription plans which includes a monthly Mobile Plan for P159, or annual Mobile Plan for P1,150. The Premium Plan is available for P369 monthly, or P2,950 annually.
