True feminism includes trans women—Zendaya

In an interview with British Vogue on Sept. 6, Zendaya emphasized that true feminism must be intersectional.

For the 25-year-old actress, it should encompass “women that look like you, women who don’t look like you, women whose experiences are different than you."

"That means black women, that means trans women, that means all women," she specifies, detailing the scope of the intersectionality.

Zendaya has always been vocal about her allyship with the LGBTQ+ community and even received a Gamechanger Award from the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) in 2017. She stars alongside Hunter Schafer in Euphoria, portraying one of the few cis-trans love stories on TV.

Earlier in the year, she won the hearts of queer fans again when she corrected a gendered question asking her what she "most likes in a man."

"I most like in a person, how about that?" she responded then continued to give her answer.

In the British Vogue interview, Zendaya also talked about how she set up boundaries as a child star. The actress revealed that she declined on-screen kisses because she didn't want her first kiss to be on camera.

Zendaya has quite the exciting next months ahead of her with sci-fi epic Dune coming in October and Spider-Man: No Way Home in December. The second season of Euphoria might premiere later in the year, too, or early 2022.
