There’s only a couple of days left before Marvel releases the Spider-Man: Miles Morales game – and to get fans pumped up even further, there’s a new launch trailer that gives some much needed info about the game’s central storyline, important details, as well as a glimpse of Spidey’s new skills and abilities.

Also, the game's developer, Insomniac Games, tweeted out an important update regarding transferring save files from Marvel's Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 to the remastered title on PlayStation 5.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is set in the winter, about a year after the events of the first Spider Man game. Here, New York is covered in snow and is gearing up for the Yuletide break.

Amid the festive mood, an energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army clash right in the middle of Harlem, Miles’ new home. This time, his coming-of-age story will be the central focal point – his struggles, anxiety and aspirations as he takes on the mantle of the web slinger.

The two-minute launch trailer, uploaded on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel, is where fans can get an early treat of what the game looks like.

Watch it here:

Graphics-wise, the movements, mechanics and powers of this new Spider-Man is uniquely his own, a necessary boost if he is to fight the dual threats of Roxxon and the Underground. The trailer also showcases the powers of Tinkerer who is easily able to match Morales’ in battle.

Also present in the character line up is Miles’ best friend, Ganke Lee, as well as an uncle named Aaron Davis, aka Prowler. He could be onto the secret identity of Miles and it’s possible that they cross paths as adversaries later in the game. Having these two characters confirmed adds much more twists and complexities into an already exciting game.

Meanwhile, Insomniac has confirmed that save files from Marvel's Spider-Man on the PS4 can be transferred and enabled on the remastered version of the game that will come out on PS5.

This is an extremely welcome development among fans who've sunk in hours upon hours on the PS4 version, and would like the ability to play Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered using their current progress.

The great news came via a tweet from the official Insomniac Games Twitter account. "We have heard you," Insomniac wrote. "In an upcoming update for #SpiderManPS4, we will add the ability to export your save to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. This update will also add the three new suits from Remastered to the PS4 game," they continued.

As to when the update will arrive, Insomniac said, "We expect to bring you this update around Thanksgiving."

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be released for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 12.
