WATCH: T.O.P teases long-awaited musical comeback
T.O.P is making a return and has teased his fans that "a new album is on the way."
T.O.P, whose real name is Choi Seung-hyun, will also be celebrating his 20th anniversary since his debut.
In a brief teaser video, he is seen writing the phrase "Top Spot. Another Dimension" in both English and Korean, teasing the title of his new album. The launch date, however, remains unconfirmed.
This will be his first album since the release of his single Doom Dada in 2013 and his first musical project since officially departing from Big Bang in 2023.
T.O.P rose to fame as a rapper and actor after his 2006 debut with Big Bang.
Following a 2017 hiatus due to a marijuana conviction—which resulted in a suspended prison sentence and withdrawal from Big Bang—he made his comeback in 2024 as a cast member in the second season of Squid Game.
In January 2025, T.O.P said that his 20s were a "dark time" and that he "wanted to quit everything" after experiencing downfall for the first time.
But he said director Hwang Dong-hyeok was the one who encouraged him, sharing, "For almost 10 years, I felt no one looked at me, but director Hwang Dong-hyuk reached out to me first. The trust (and) the belief he had in me gave me the courage to take this on. As an actor, it is my duty to repay the trust. Excelling in my performance is another assignment in my life."
As he nears 40, the 37-year-old actor said he wishes for a "stable and less dramatic life."
He added, "I want to reach a point where I can wake up without being bombarded by negative news and feel more at peace."
