'Weak Hero Class 1' to stream on Netflix in March
Get ready for a new binge-worthy series to hit your Netflix queue as the highly anticipated action-packed South Korean drama Weak Hero Class 1 is set to premiere on the streaming platform.
The streaming giant said that the drama, an adaptation of the popular webtoon Weak Hero that was originally released in 2022, is set to grace the small screens starting Tuesday, March 25.
The announcement features some snippets of the exciting scenes from the upcoming drama.
Weak Hero Class 1 follows the story of a seemingly quiet and unassuming student, Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji Hoon), who navigates the rough and often dangerous high school world in South Korea. The story delves into themes of bullying, survival, and the struggle for identity in a world that usually values physical power over intellect.
Unlike the typical hero of a high school drama, Si-eun doesn't stand out with physical strength or charisma. Instead, he's a master of strategy, using his wits and intelligence to stay under the radar while outsmarting those around him. Si-eun's quiet demeanor hides a constantly calculating mind, making him a force to be reckoned with despite his physical limitations.
Si-eun isn't alone in his struggles. Along the way, he forms unlikely alliances with other students, through Ahn Su Ho (Choi Hyun Wook) and Oh Beom Seok (Hong Kyung)—each with their own burdens and aspirations.
Meanwhile, Weak Hero Class 2 is also slated for release in the second quarter of this year.
On X, Netflix Korea said that Si-eun will be "transferred to Eunjang High School with the trauma of standing up to violence for her friend but failing to protect him in the end."
He then faces even "greater violence" because he cannot stand to lose his friend again.
