Don’t throw away your shot—this is your chance to see Hamilton on the big screen!

Walt Disney Studios announced on Wednesday, Sept. 24, that the film version of the multi-awarded musical will be released in Philippine cinemas on Oct. 1 for a limited run only.

The upcoming movie, which was filmed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016, is part of the celebration for the musical's 10th anniversary. It will also feature an exclusive reunion featuring the original Broadway cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs, Phillipa Soo, Anthony Ramos, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, and more—a perk you won't see on Disney+, where it's available for streaming.

The film will be shown at select Philippine cinemas. Tickets will be available soon, so be sure to get them quickly before the one-week run ends.

The hit musical follows the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, from his role in the American Revolution to the political development of the United States. Based on Ron Chernow's 2004 biography of Hamilton, the show is performed entirely in song and rap. It bagged 11 Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and a Grammy Award.

The film was released in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico this September, and will premiere in Australia and New Zealand in November.

Filipino fans got to witness the award-winning musical live during its Asian premiere at the Theatre at Solaire from September to November 2023. It starred Jason Arrow as Alexander Hamilton and Rachelle Ann Go, reprising her West End role as Eliza Hamilton.
