Apple has just released an update for its iPhone's operating system, which includes nifty features like new emojis, voice isolation for phone calls, and website push notifications.

With the iOS 16.4 update, users now have access to 21 new emojis (31, counting variations) like shaking face, complimentary hand gestures (with five skin tone modifiers), gray heart, pink heart, blue heart, Khanda symbol, and WiFi symbol.

Animals like moose, donkey, goose, jellyfish, and a black bird are already usable. Food like pea pod and ginger are also available.

There are also musical instruments like flute and maracas as well as cute items like hair pick and a folding fan.

The iOS 16.4 update includes 21 new emojis.

Here are the other features included in the iOS 16.4 update:

  • Voice isolation for phone calls, which prioritizes one's voice and blocks out ambient noise around, resulting in clearer phone calls;
  • Notifications for web apps added to Home Screen, which allows users to get notifications from websites being accessed on Safari à la App Store. The websites must be saved as a web app on one's Home Screen to enable push notifications;
  • Expanded support of Duplicates album in Photos, which lets the Duplicates detect images and videos in an iCloud Shared Photo Library to help manage one's albums better;
  • VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app, which allows users to get descriptions of images and screen elements even on webpages and in apps without accessibility information on Safari and Maps;
  • Automatically dim video when flashes of light or strobe effects are detected, which proves to be helpful especially to those who have epileptic seizures; and
  • Bug fixes, such as issues involving Ask to Buy requests from children failing to appear on the parent’s device; Matter-compatible thermostats becoming unresponsive when paired to Apple Home; and Crash Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.

To get the iOS 16.4 update, iPhone users may go to Settings > General > Software Update.
