"Die Beautiful The Musical unfolds at the vibrant, ever-changing wake of Trisha, a Filipino transgender woman whose final wish was to remain beautiful even in death," the musical's official synopsis reads.
"As her chosen family transforms her appearance each night to mirror celebrity icons, they weave together a tapestry of her life—recounting the fierce battles she fought, the heartbreaks she endured, and the defiant joy she found living authentically in a society that wasn't always ready for her," it added.
Directed by Jun Robles Lana, the original film was an official entry to the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival and starred Paolo Ballesteros in the leading role. Other cast members include Christian Bables, Joel Torre, Gladys Reyes, Luis Alandy, and Albie Casiño.
