Marvel Comics' first Filipino superhero is part of the newest animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

A new Peter Parker is set to swing into action as Marvel Entertainment dropped a trailer for the upcoming series on Dec. 30. The new show follows Spider-Man's early comic book roots as he juggles keeping good grades in high school and fighting crime in New York.

The animated series will feature familiar characters from Spidey's universe, including Aunt May (Kari Wahlgren), Otto Octavius (Hugh Dancy), Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox).

In this show, Peter is mentored by Norman Osborn, a.k.a. the Green Goblin, instead of Tony Stark like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The trailer also teased the appearance of Pearl Pangan, a.k.a. Wave, Marvel's first Filipino hero. In the halls of Midtown High, Peter suddenly bumps into her, causing him to drop his notebook.

"Petey's always been a bit clumsy," Pearl says as she puts a hand on the web-slinger's shoulder. "You know me, clumsy Petey Parkey. Erm, Parker," he responds.

Pearl, or Wave, made her debut in May 2019 in the War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1 comic. She was designed by Filipino comic book artist Leinil Francis Yu swimmer from Mactan, Cebu. Her powers include water manipulation and superhuman strength.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will premiere on Disney+ on Jan. 29.
