Late PNoy's live TV sendoff features ‘Gundam Seed Destiny’ OST
Gundam enthusiasts were surprised to hear a familiar tune during the wake of former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III last Friday, June 25.
The live broadcast was covered by state-run media channel PTV at the Ateneo De Manila University in Quezon City where the public viewing of his remains were held.
During the livestream, the original sound track of one of the most popular Gundam anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, can be heard as an envoy of uniformed personnel brought the former president’s remains to the front of the church.
At the 3:38 mark of the livestream video aired by PTV, the instrumental track titled Kimi to Boku, Todokanu Omoi (You and I, Unfulfilled Feelings) can be heard. The song is composed by Toshihiko Sahashi and has been used several times throughout pivotal parts in the series.
That part of the livestream drew the attention of netizens for the interesting music choice. Gundam fans in particular were caught off guard by it and have expressed their amusement online.
