WATCH: Official trailer for 'Wizards of Waverly Place' sequel released
The official trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to Wizards of Waverly Place is finally here!
Disney dropped the official clip on YouTube on Wednesday, Sept. 25, giving a glimpse of the "exciting magic, mischievous antics, and relatable characters" that viewers can expect from the show.
The series follows the story of an adult Justin Russo after choosing to have a "normal, mortal life" with his family, Giada, Roman, and Milo. It all changes when he meets a young wizard in need of training. Justin realizes he needs to use his magical skills again to ensure the future of Wizard World.
It will feature the original cast David Henrie and Selena Gomez as wel as Janice LeAnn Brown, who will play a powerful young wizard named Billie; Alkaio Thiele as Roman, Justin’s eldest son; and Mimi Gianopulos, who will play Justin's wife named Giada.
Created by Todd J. Greenwald Wizards of Waverly Place first premiered in 2007 and ran until 2012. Following the story of the Russo siblings who are exploring their capabilities as wizards while dealing with life growing up, it spawned a movie dubbed Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, which premiered in 2009. They also had a cast reunion in 2013 in a special TV series The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex.
