The flagship store of Hobbes & Landes in Taguig is closing down by the end of the month.

In a Facebook post, Tuesday (Jan. 4) Hobbes & Landes announced that its main store located at Bonifacio High Street in Fort Bonifacio Global City (BGC) will cease operations on Jan. 31, 2022.

Announcement posted on Hobbes and Landes Facebook Page.

"It has become unfeasible for us to keep the business running in these difficult times," Hobbes & Landes stated as the main reason behind the closure of the BGC branch.

"Thank you for your support and patronage. It has been a great almost 20 years since we started back in July 2002," it added.

Since it opened nearly two deades ago, the specialty store which was born out of a love for board games, has been known as a go-to shop among hobbyists and the geek community for games, puzzles, toys, collectibles, science items, arts and crafts kits, and more.

According to its website, Hobbes & Landes aimed to be the destination for families of all ages who "love nothing more than simply gathering together for wholesome fun."

"We strive to promote the lifestyle and values of learning, caring, relationship-building and inspiration through fun and discovery,” it adds.

Other Hobbes & Landes branches are located at Greenbelt 5, Rockwell Power Plant Mall in Makati and Shangri-La Plaza. Customers who still have gift certificates may still redeem items from the BGC store until Jan. 31, 2022.

Hobbyists can also still shop for Hobbes and Landes items online through their website as well as their official Lazada and Shopee online shops.
