Elton John confirms release date of new music with Britney Spears
It won't be long before we hear Britney Spears sing again because a release date for her duet with Elton John is slated for a release this Aug. 26!
In a TikTok post published on Aug. 20, John announced the news, adding that the song will be titled Hold Me Closer.
Alongside the 14-second snippet of his new music with Spears, the music legend also shared an accompanying artwork that features childhood photos of both artists.
The photos show Spears as a little girl in a feathered tutu dance outfit, and John smiling wide as he sits at a piano, wearing a dark blazer and shorts.

The song is said to be a reimagined version of John's classic hit Tiny Dancer, mixed with samples from his other songs, including his 1992 track The One. According to reports, Spears tweaked the lyrics and offered to sing a new verse for the remix.
This isn't the first time the Rocketman singer has released updated versions of his old songs. In 2021, the legendary singer has worked with Dua Lipa to release Cold Heart, which topped the charts for months.
Meanwhile, this project will be Spears' much-anticipated comeback as she returns to music after her conservatorship was terminated in 2021. The last time the pop star officially released new songs was when she released her ninth studio album Glory in 2016.
