Cignal TV launches Red Fiber Broadband in the Philippines

With the lingering effects of the pandemic and the onslaught of the recent typhoons, fast and stable internet connection has never been more vital for all of us. Good thing that another internet service provider has entered the local market in a bid to provide an alternative for those clamoring for better internet service.

Cignal TV, a subsidiary of the PLDT Group’s media and content arm MediaQuest Holdings, has partnered with Radius Telecoms, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) to bring in every Filipino home the latest unlimited fiber broadband and payTV service in the form of RED Broadband.

The latest internet service provider is offering customers with unlimited fiber internet and pay TV plan for as low as P1,299 per month. The company has yet to announce when their services will be available in the country.

“Spending more of our lives online due to the pandemic, there is a crying need for faster and more reliable internet access for online education and work from home needs,” the company said in a statement.

Red Broadband will compete against Sky, which also offers unlimited fiber broadband with cable TV plans and also with Converge ICT, the latest internet service provider to enter the arena.

Radius Telecoms COO Jenevi L. Dela Paz, Meralco president and CEO Atty. Ray C. Espinosa, Radius Telecoms president and CEO Exequiel C. Delgado, Cignal TV president and CEO Robert P. Galang, and Cignal TV CFO John L. Andal signed an agreement last February.
