Miss Universe 2022 host Olivia Culpo pokes fun at her ‘low energy’ during pageant's 69th edition
Olivia Culpo poked fun at her “low energy” hosting at the 69th Miss Universe competition—just a few days after she was announced to be the host of the 71st edition of the pageant alongside TV personality Jeannie Mai Jenkins.
In an Instagram reel on Sunday, Jan. 8, the Miss Universe 2012 titleholder shared a hilarious edited video of herself on a boat while she was putting on some lipstick. “On my way to get Red Bull before hosting Miss Universe because user 26263747482 said I need more energy this year,” she wrote in the IG clip.
She also captioned her social media post with: “Been practicing screaming all week and not squinting when I read! See you next week, Miss Universe. I can’t wait.”
Olivia later reposted the same video in her Instagram stories. “People are so ruthless,” she wrote, adding laughing emojis and a battery charge sticker.
The Miss Universe 2022 coronation night is slated for Sunday, Jan. 15 at 9:00 a.m., with Philippine bet Celeste Cortesi and 85 other delegates vying for the highly coveted crown.
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Access Hollywood correspondent Zuri Hall will serve as backstage commentators for the show, which will be streamed live on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC from the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Same-day replays will also be available at 10:30 p.m. on the same channels.
